A Measure of Service Quality: The SERVQUAL Analysis

It is no longer possible for an organisation to stand still and remain competitive, ‘we must run as fast as we can, just to stay in place, and if you wish to go anywhere you must run twice as fast as that’. Service provision is complex, it is not simply a matter of meeting expressed needs, but of finding out unexpressed needs, setting priorities, allocated resources and publicly justifying and accounting for what has been done. The SERVQUAL analysis, a tool that allows important voices to be heard, relevant performance measures taken, and improvement actions prioritised.
